Published: Friday, May 07, 2010
As the European Women's Lobby enters the final year of its Strategic Plan 2007-2010, time has come to develop a new Strategic Plan for the period 2011-2015. This questionnaire is part of the European Women's Lobby membership consultation process in the drafting and shaping of EWL new Strategic Plan for the years 2011-2015 to be adopted at the end of November 2010 by the EWL Board of Administration.
What do we aim to achieve with a new Strategic Plan?
The EWL is developing throughout this year its new EWL Strategic Plan. The previous one was adopted in 2006 for the period 2007-2010 and is available here
The process leading to the adoption of the new EWL Strategic Plan is a key opportunity for the whole EWL membership and staff:
- To review the policy/political priorities within the European Women's Lobby work and to set the agenda for the next five years;
- To understand more clearly what the European Women's Lobby does well and how this could be done, even better;
- To understand from the membership what benefits they perceive in being members of EWL and if there is more that could be done to support them, involving the wider membership.
Key dates in the development of the new EWL Strategic Plan 2011-2015:
- 29-30 January 2010 First exchange of views at EWL board meeting, Dublin
- 24 April 2010 Working session EWL Executive and staff, Brussels
- 19 April - 5 May 2010 Questionnaire sent to EWL membership
- 10 May-10 June 2010 Drafting by EWL secretariat of 4 issue papers to be discussed in the issue groups at the EWL General Assembly
- 11-13 June 2010 Strategic Planning issue groups at the EWL General Assembly, Madrid
- September 2010 Draft of EWL new Strategic Plan prepared by EWL Secretariat sent to EWL full members and EWL board members
- 15-16 October 2010 Discussion on the draft EWL new Strategic Plan at EWL Board meeting, Brussels
- End of November 2010 Electronic adoption by EWL board of the EWL Strategic Plan 2011-2015
How can members input in the Strategic Planning process?
The drafting of a Strategic Plan is a collective exercise. The EWL broader membership, Board of Administration, Executive Committee and Secretariat all have an crucial role to play in this process. As a membership-based organisation with more than 2500 Member Organisations, the European Women's Lobby views the contribution of the EWL wide membership as crucial in the development of our new Strategic Plan. This questionnaire aims to provide a key opportunity for all EWL members to give your input on what our priority issues should be over the next 5 years, but also on the strategies we adopt. This questionnaire will feed in the next steps in the Strategic Planning to be found above.
The deadline to submit the questionnaire to the EWL Secretariat is Wednesday 5 May 2010.
