Abbey Theatre/ Inner City Assembly
Published: Monday, August 26, 2013
The Abbey Theatre with the support of the Inner City Organisations Network and a number of Dublin's north inner city residents present The Abbey Theatre / Inner City Assembly.
Our theatre has played a leading role in the life of Dublin City for over 100 years. We are excited to assemble with our community for an afternoon of debate and celebration centred upon the theme:
'How do we lead change, again?'
The primary purpose of this event is to explore and debate five social issues relevant to the north inner city. These topics include:
• Reclaiming Our History
• Feminism in the Inner City
• Addiction: Why us?
• The perspective through the eyes of our new locals.
• Education in the City.
Each topic will be led by an experienced speaker with a local connection to the area. These speakers include Mark Candon, Caitriona Crowe and Belinda Nugent who will share their own thoughts before opening up to the audience for opinions.
The day will also feature diverse performances from the works of talented Dublin artists including Grace Dyas, Thomas Kane Byrne and Mark O'Rowe.
We hope you will join us for this special opportunity to explore and celebrate our community on the Abbey Theatre stage.
