Charities Act - Information Seminar

Published: Thursday, February 14, 2013

As you may know the Department of Justice & Equality has announced a consultation on how the Charities Act is to be implemented. Carmichael Centre is collaborating with a number of other umbrella bodies in the C&V sector to set up an information seminar on the consultation process. The other members of the collaborative group are: Boardmatch Ireland, Business to Arts, CORI, DFI, Dochas, ICTR, RCB, The Wheel and Volunteer Ireland.

You will find a link to the programme and registration details here.

The event is designed to provide you with an opportunity to re-familiarise yourself with the Charities Act 2009. It will also provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the Government's proposals in relation to how the act will be implemented, and about how you can make a submission to the consultation and make your voice heard.

For more details on how to participate in an online consultation visit the Department of Justice & Equality website.

Carmichael Centre will also be making a submission to the consultation, based on feedback from a consultation held recently with our resident member organisations. We strongly encourage all organisations to come to the seminar on 19th February, and to participate in the online consultation.
