Community Platform: Equal Right to Health for All
Published: Tuesday, December 12, 2017
On Universal Health Coverage Day at the beginning of December, the Community Platform published a leaflet and poster, highlighting the shocking facts which show that the equal right to health is being denied to those experiencing poverty, social exclusion and inequality. They call on the Government to bring about change.
The leaflet and poster ask everyone to take action by:
- informing themselves of the reality of the issue
- demanding that the Government implement the reforms outlined in the Sláintecare report
- reminding the Government of it’s commitments in Healthy Ireland to addressing health inequalities
- promote the Public Sector Duty which places a legal duty on all public sector bodies to have regard to eliminating discrimination, promoting equality and protecting human rights in their daily work.
For more information and to get hard copies of the posters and leaflets please contact communityplatform@eapn.ie or visit The Community Platform website here.
The Community Platform, of which NWCI is a member, is a network of 27 national networks and organisations in the community and voluntary sector working to address poverty, social exclusion and inequality.
