European Anti Poverty Network (EAPN) Ireland A series of workshops on the Europe 2020 Strategy

In March 2010 EU Member States including Ireland agreed on the Europe 2020 Strategy for Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive Growth.

This strategy includes 5 key targets on a number areas including education, employment and a commitment to reduce social exclusion and the number of people experiencing poverty and social exclusion by at least 20 million by 2020. In April this year each EU country including Ireland sent in their own Programme to Brussels outlining national targets and commitments aimed at achieving the EU target.
