NWCI congratulates Chairperson Ellen O’Malley-Dunlop on being selected as a Fine Gael candidate

NWCI wish to congratulate our Chairperson Ellen O’Malley-Dunlop on being selected as a Fine Gael candidate in the next general election.  We in NWCI welcome the increasing representation of women in politics across the political spectrum and commend all who put themselves forward for this invaluable public service.

Ellen will stay in her current role as Chairperson of NWCI until a general election has been called and then step down from her position as Chairperson, in line with the non-party political nature of the organisation.

 NWCI would like to take this opportunity to thank Ellen for her immense support and commitment to the organisation and to women’s equality in Ireland. We wish her all the best in her new endeavour.

We hope that the next General Election brings a greater gender balance to our Dail and NWCI will have a nationwide public campaign to ensure that the inequalities and discrimination experienced by women are central issues in the next General Election.
