OWN Ireland Development and Membership Support Officer

The Older Women's Network is a national network linking older women (55+) and older women's groups together to give a voice to older women in the decision and policy making process. OWN is now offering an opportunity to gain invaluable experience in supporting in the development of the organisation. This role offers the unique opportunity to participate in gaining an insight into influencing policy and networking on gender and ageing issues

What does OWN do?

  • connects women
  • provides information
  • organises events to provide opportunities to express the views o older women; to promote life long learning and to influence policy;
  • invites members to workshops and seminars to discuss issues of interest
  • helps make the voice of older women heard by the decision makers.

 

The Role : Development and Membership Support Officer (Contract) -

Requirements

  • Assist in the development of the network
  • Support the membership
  • Produce and edit the quarterly newsletter
  • Maintain the website
  • Contribute to the work of the newtwork in a creative
  • Provide support to the National Director where required

Key Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • A Third-Level qualification or at least three years experience or in a related environment;
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Computer literacy;
  • Excellent administrative skills;
  • Good written and oral communication skills;
  • Marketing and PR skills would be a distinct advantage;
  • Proven ability to manage projects.
