Realising Women’s Right to Health - UN Special Rapporteur to give keynote address

Keynote Address: Mr Anand Grover, UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health

Date: Monday, 17 December 2012

Time: 2 - 5 pm (Registration and lunch at 1 pm)

Venue: European Union House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2

Speakers at the conference will include Rachel Doyle, National Women's Council of Ireland, which convenes the Women's Human Rights Alliance, Sara Burke, Journalist, Broadcaster and Policy Analyst, and Dr Jane Pillinger, Independent Consultant
Personal testimonies will be given from Mary Bridget Collins and Monica Makulova, Pavee Point Travellers Centre, Ruth Bowie, Termination for Medical Reasons Ireland and Erica Birch-Abban, Cairde.
The conference will be chaired by Prof Kathleen Lynch, School of Social Justice, University College Dublin.

The Women's Human Rights Alliance (WHRA) is convened by the National Women's Council of Ireland (NWCI). It is a coalition of independent non-governmental organisations that advocate for women's human rights. Current members include Akidwa, Amnesty International, Cairde, Pavee Point Travellers Centre, Migrant Rights Centre Ireland, Immigrant Council of Ireland, Irish Council for Civil Liberties, National Travellers Women's Forum, National Collective of Community Based Women's Networks (NCCWN), OPEN, Ruhama, Irish Family Planning Association, UN Women Ireland and Women's Aid.
