The National Women's Council is standing in solidarity with the women and people effected by the war in Ukraine. In April 2022, NWC, alongside a number of civil society organisations, working locally and nationally, co-signed a letter with detailed proposals to the Taoiseach. The letter and attached proposals expressed deep concerns about the overall lack of coordination and coherence of responses across the country and outlined a number of approaches that need to be advanced underpinned by human rights principles and a recognition of the urgent need for cross-sectoral national and local coordination.

Below we have provided information on support services, webpages and helplines for Ukrainian refugees living in Ireland, and for those working to support them.
FIT (Fastrack into Information Technology) Ukrainian Training and Employment Services Hub
As a representative organisation of the technology sector committed to growing Ireland’s tech talent pipeline FIT wanted to use its unique resources, expertise & experience to assist those displaced by the war in Ukraine successfully integrate into Irish society and workforce. The FIT Ukrainian Training & Employment Services Hub is run by experienced members of the FIT team and all visitors will have access to a native Ukrainian speaker as they explore training, career choices, and get advice on housing and welfare issues. The Hub is open Monday to Friday from 10am – 4pm, based in the FIT Dublin Office in 7A Bellevue Industrial Estate, Glasnevin, Dublin 11, YE00. This Poland-based organisation is providing humanitarian assistance including food and other forms of support to people who have had to leave their homes. They are asking for donations to help people affected by conflict, including internally displaced persons and refugees coming to Poland.

United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency has been working in Ukraine for decades, expanding access to reproductive health services to some of the hardest-to-reach people. As fighting escalates in Ukraine, we will stay and scale up the delivery of life-saving services. We know that women and girls will be amongst the most at risk.
