"What Men Can Do" - International White Ribbon Conference
Published: Tuesday, March 12, 2013
To address men's violence against women and gender equality the Men's Development Network is presenting a conference with Michael Kaufman Director of the International White Ribbon Campaign, Greg Heylin Director of Cosc, Christian Veske of the European Institute for Gender Equality, Harry Ferguson Professor of Social Work at Nottingham University, Sé Franklin MDN Equality Officer and Alan O'Neill MDN CEO.
The aim of the conference is to deepen our understanding of how men can raise their awareness of gender and equality and how an effective response to men's violence against women is created and sustained. The conference aims to show how the involvement and contribution of all men, young men and boys responding to this call can gain awareness through their involvement with the campaign themes, how that learning can be put to use and shared and what responsibility that learning gives men in adapting our response to each other and women and in creating wider change towards primary prevention.
