Launch of Every Woman

This quater, NWCI launched Every Woman – our model for affordable, accessible healthcare options for women and girls.

With Every Woman, we hope to build a sensitive and inclusive consensus that acknowledges people's experience of pregnancy and family life in all its diversity and complexity.

We know that one way in which equality is realised is through women’s control of their fertility, education, contraception and maternal healthcare, and Every Woman seeks to be a model for comprehensive reproductive and sexual health services that are designed around the lives of women and girls.

Reproductive health matters at all stages of our lives. It begins before adolescence with sexual health education and continues beyond the years of reproduction with post-reproductive services.

Access to abortion services for all women who need it is part of this healthcare journey. At NWCI we know from speaking to women that every pregnancy is different, and every decision is personal.

Dublin and Cork launches

We launched Every Woman in Dubin and Cork, and we were thrilled that so many representatives from NWCI group members could attend. It was a pleasure to discuss our model with our membership

NWCI were delighted to have speakers Suzy Byrne, disability rights activist; Alison Cowzer, East Coast Bakehouse and Investor on Dragon's Den; Gemma Hussey, former Fine Gael Minister and TD; and Sonya Lennon, Designer and Entrepreneur, speak at the Dublin event in November, in support of Every Woman.

At the beginning of December in Cork, we were joined by three time Olympian Derval O’Rourke; Dr Mary Favier, GP; and Dr Louise Crowley, Vice Dean of Law at University College Cork.

Sincere thank you to everyone who attended either launch of Every Woman and save the date for our upcoming regional launch in Galway on 6th February.
