NOMINATIONS - Carers of the Year Awards 2010

I am writing in relation to the Carers of the Year Awards 2010 which were launched by Eamon O'Cuiv T.D, Minister for Social Protection Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010. The awards are our way of recognising and rewarding family Carers who dedicate their lives to providing remarkable levels of care in the home to their loved ones.

I would greatly appreciate it if you would add a link to the online nomination form on your website http://www.carersireland.com/events_carersoftheyear.php.

I have also attached the nomination form and press release so please feel free to use this if you would like to add further information.

Please note the closing date for receipt of nominations is Friday, 10th of September 2010.

Anyone can nominate a Carer they feel should be rewarded for their tireless dedication to a loved one, neighbour or friend. There is also a special category of awards - Young Carer of the Year. Young Carers are under 18 years of age who provide care to sick and/or disabled relatives in the home. Their work often goes unrecognised and their own social, health and educational needs are often neglected.
