NWC Welcomes Three New Groups

Published: Monday, November 09, 2020

NWC is happy to announce that three new members have joined and we look forward to working with them going forward.

Mental Health Reform is the leading national coalition on mental health in Ireland. They have over 70 member organisations, representing a broad range of interests, like housing, disability, children’s rights, human rights, ethnic minorities and many others. Mental Health Reform provides a unified voice campaigning to drive progressive reform of mental health services and supports in Ireland. MHR and NWC have collaborated to date on the Women’s Mental Health Network and Covid supports.

Independent Living Movement Ireland (ILMI) is a campaigning, national Disabled Person’s Organisation (DPO) that promotes the philosophy of independent living and to build an inclusive society. Central to the way they work is to ensure that policy decisions that impact on the lives of disabled people have to be directly influenced by those whose lives are directly affected. Our vision is an Ireland where disabled persons have freedom, choice and control over all aspects of their lives and can fully participate in an inclusive society as equals.

Laois Domestic Abuse Centre are a domestic violence support service for women and children. They are currently working to develop a refuge in Laois for women and children experiencing domestic abuse and are committed to commence a programme to support women parenting through domestic violence in the county.
