Have your say on the new National Women’s Strategy 2017 - 2020
Published: Friday, December 16, 2016
The Department of Justice and Equality recently opened its call for submissions to the new National Women’s Strategy 2017-2020.
NWCI will be carrying out a significant piece of work on this most important process that will influence the lives of women in Ireland for the coming four years.
1. Your submission to NWCI
As part of this work, we are calling for submissions from our membership which we will use to inform our written submission to the Department. The closing date for submissions will be close of business Monday 9th January. We are very much aware that you may have recently made a submission to our CEDAW Shadow Report and if you would be happy for us to use that piece to inform our submission please get in touch with Niamh Allen on niamha@nwci.ie.
2. Participate in the consultation of the Department of Justice
Finally we would ask you to consider making a submission to the Department directly on behalf of your organisation. The Department also plans to hold a number of consultation sessions across the country, the dates and venues for which are yet to be confirmed, but we would encourage your organisation to attend these sessions where possible. The more diverse the range of voices that the Department hear from the more likely the new NWS will be to reflect the needs of all women, in all their diversity in Ireland.
3.Take part in NWCI Members Meeting on the new National Women's Strategy, 12 January 2017
NWCI will be organising a members only meeting on the 12 January in the Oak Room of the Mansion House to discuss our submission on the National Women's Strategy. We will be in touch with further information on this shortly.
If you have any queries regarding making your submission please contact Niamh Allen niamha@nwci.ie 0858659721
