The government is currently conducting consultation in two areas
Childcare
Public Consultation on Future Investment in Early Years and School-Age Care and Education: Views from the Early Years Sector. To make a consultation, see here.
Pensions
The Government recently announced a targeted consultation on proposals for a new Universal Supplementary Retirement Scheme with a deadline of May 20th 2015. If you or your organisation would like more information on how you can contribute your thoughts to this consultation, please contact reception@nwci.ie To Read NWCI’s 2008 publication on a ‘What Women Want’ from a pension system, see here.
Europe is also consulting
Europe is at an important crossroads in its gender equality policy. The current strategy for equality between women and men is about to expire and the European Commission has launched a public consultation to collect your views and shape its future policy. First of all we need to ask for a firm commitment to deliver a new Strategy for Equality between Women and Men and we need to make sure it includes issues such as violence against women, precarious work and the gender pay gap, reproductive rights and real gender mainstreaming.
