UK government considers giving women right to know about violent men

A campaign to give UK women the right to know if their partners have a history of violence was launched today.
Hazel Blears, former Home Office minister, is leading the proposal, Clare's Law, named after Clare Wood who was murdered in 2009.
Ms Wood was unaware of her killer's record of domestic violence when she met him on Facebook.
Ms Blears said: "By changing the law we can empower women so that they can take informed action about their relationship and give them the chance to protect themselves and prevent domestic abuse from happening before it begins."
