The National Women’s Council of Ireland & TASC to launch exciting new book on Feminism in contem

The National Women's Council of Ireland & TASC will hold a seminar next week (Wed, 5th March, 2008) to discuss the impact and challenges of feminism in contemporary Ireland, as explored in a major new book to be launched on the same day.
The seminar will be held to mark International Women's Day.
The book: 'Where are we now? New feminist perspectives on women in contemporary Ireland' features contributions from key Irish feminists who ask where feminist principles stand in 21st Century Ireland.
Progress & regress are examined across a range of relevant areas, including:
- The gender pay gap & women's economic status
- The rise in domestic services & the crisis in care provision
- Women with disabilities & those of migrant communities
- The inequality of health & welfare services
- Violence against women & reproductive choices
- Parenthood amongst lesbians
The book is edited by Ursula Barry & contributors include: Sara Burke, Pauline Conroy, Maureen Lyons, Kathleen Lynch, Mary Murphy, Angela O'Connell, Helen O'Leary, Monica O'Connor, Orla O'Connor, Jane Pillinger & Niamh Reilly.
