Advocacy Award - Call for Nominations

Inclusion Ireland
Founded in 1961, Inclusion Ireland is the national organisation for people with an
intellectual disability. We advocate for changes to laws; policies and services as they
relate to people with an intellectual disability. We also provide an independent advocacy
service to people with an intellectual disability
Advocacy Award
Each year Inclusion Ireland recognises the contribution of an individual or group to the
development and promotion of advocacy for people with intellectual disability in Ireland.
Advocacy
Advocacy is about speaking up and having your voice heard. There are many different
approaches to advocacy. The models of advocacy supported or provided by Inclusion
Ireland are listed below. Nominations for the Inclusion Ireland advocacy award must be
made in respect of one of these:

  • Public Policy Advocacy
  • Self Advocacy
  • Representative Advocacy
  • Parent Advocacy
  • Peer Advocacy
  • Citizen Advocacy
