Childers asks top 100 Irish companies urged to sign boardroom gender pledge

Childers meets Commission Vice-President And German Minister

Nessa Childers MEP speaking before a meeting with the European Commission Vice-President Viviane Reding and the German Minister of Social Affairs Ursula von der Leyen has urged the top 100 Irish publically-listed companies to sign the Commissioner's "Women on the Board Pledge".

Ms.Childers stated "This pledge represents a commitment to increase women's presence on corporate boards to 30% by 2015 and to 40% by 2020. Open for signatures from all publicly listed companies in Europe, this week I have contacted all top 100 publically-listed Irish companies urging them to sign up.
