Invitation to celebrate 22 years of Banúlacht's contributions to feminist solidarity locally and globally Dear members and friends, We would like to thank you all for your kind words and responses to the announcement of the closure of Banúlacht on the 31st March. Many of you have expressed your commitment to continue the feminist global solidarity work of Banúlacht and Mná Sasa. Therefore, we are inviting you to join us in celebrating 22 years of Banúlacht's contributions to feminist solidarity locally and globally.
This event will take place on Saturday, 31st March at 16.30, in the Teacher's Club, 36 Parnell Square, Dublin 1.
The day will begin with the Herstories of Banúlacht, facilitated by Mary Quinlan (founding member and ex-chair of Banúlacht).
This will be followed by a workshop on 'Mná Sasa - A future for global feminist solidarity work at community level in Ireland', facilitated by Siobhán Madden (ex-chair of Banúlacht and documenter of the Mná Sasa Manifesto). For many years, Banúlacht has been facilitating feminist development education in the women's community sector, and facilitating solidarity between grassroots feminist activists in Ireland and in the Global South. The workshop will explore how this critical work can continue in the absence of Banúlacht.
Following on from the workshop we hope you will join us in toasting the contributions of Banúlacht during its 22 years of feminist solidarity locally and globally.
Please RSVP to caoimhe@banulacht.ie before Friday 23rd March to let us know if you can attend.
