Journalist Caitlin Moran: How to be feminist and funny

Journalist Caitlin Moran has bagged a clutch of awards for her witty takes on womanhood. She tells Julia Molony why she hated being a teen television presenter, the joys of having seven siblings and the perils of wearing the same pair of tights for three days

It's a bit surreal walking into Caitlin Moran's north London home, because I half expect to recognise it. Followers of her column and readers of her new book have been here before.

She refers to it all the time -- the nexus of her big media life, where she lives with her journalist husband and her two daughters. And from where every week, she comes up with her columns, her various book and TV projects, and many, many, many tweets. Moran is almost terrifyingly prolific as a tweeter.

She tweets, in fact, rather like she talks and thinks -- lightning quick, incessantly, and in hilarious, absurdist, quotable lines. It's this ability that has made her something of a rock star of the form, with more than 150,000 followers. Not to mention a very much A-list journalist.

Which goes some way towards explaining why she's spent the last few weeks at various awards ceremonies including the Bord Gais Energy Irish Book awards.
