Six Steps to a Women Friendly Oireachtas

NWCI held a consultation meeting with members to discuss a draft report on how to create a woman friendly Oireachtas. The report makes suggestions about how to overhaul the Oireachtas in order to make it more accessible for all women, but particularly women from diverse backgrounds. 

The recommendations include maternity leave for women politicians, use of technology in committee meetings and the formation of a women's caucus.  Members will be sent a copy of the report for a further round of written consultations. The report will be launched in early September.
