Viva House launch
Published: Saturday, November 27, 2010
Sonas Housing Association are launching Viva House, a new women's refuge in Dublin 15. The launch takes place on Friday, 10th December at 10am in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown. The launch coincides with the final day of the International 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence campaign as well as International Human Rights Day.
Viva House is a much-needed service in the Dublin 15 area for women and children affected by domestic violence who are suffering the most brutal human rights' abuses in their own homes. It opened its doors in June this year following tireless efforts by many people in the local community. Since it opened it has been inundated with enquiries and presentations.
The aim of the launch is to draw attention to the services of Viva House as well as to raise awareness of the issue and effects of domestic violence. Speakers include: Amanda Middleton, an expert in domestic violence and substance misuse issues, and Fingal County Council Mayor Councillor Ken Farrell.
Spaces at the launch are limited and will be allocated on a first come-first served basis so please RSVP to pmcgovern@sonashousing.ie to book your place.
