Important updates from The Community Foundation for Ireland

Some important updates from The Community Foundation for Ireland:

1. Philanthropist of the Year Awards - Closing date for nominations is Friday 24th September.

Nominations can be made at www.communityfoundation.ie

The Community Foundation for Ireland is calling on everyone around the country to make their nominations now for the 2010 Irish Philanthropist of the Year Awards. These awards publicly recognise people whose personal money has made an outstanding and lasting contribution in their communities and to society.
The awards serve to highlight achievements and inspire others to give and to make a difference.

2. Grassroots Grants Scheme: Next closing date Friday 29th October 2010.
The 2011 Closing dates will be 31st March, 30th June, 30th September, and 30th December. See www.communityfoundation.ie for the full criteria.

3. NEW LGBT Communities Fund:
In partnership with LGBT Diversity, The Community Foundation will make small grants to groups working in the Republic of Ireland with and on behalf of the LGBT Community. Applications will be assessed four times per year. The next closing date is Friday 29th October 2010.

4. NEW Community Growers Fund: A fund established by the Mount Street Club Trust at The Community Foundation for Ireland

Do you have a green space in Dublin city or county lying idle?
No money to do anything with
it? Why not turn it into a community garden? A new fund entitled 'The Community Growers Fund' established at The Community Foundation for Ireland is set to assist unemployed people by getting them involved in the development of community allotments or gardens in Dublin city or county. The fund which is being created by The Mount Street Club Trust (MSCT) will provide grants to groups who have the capacity to work with the unemployed and can provide space for the development of a garden.

The first round closes for applications on Friday 29th October 2010.

5. OLC Ireland Trust Fund: Currently open for applications.
Small grants available for groups working with marginalised women in the areas of Addictions, Prostitution, Trafficking, Violence and Abuse.
The next round closes on Friday 19th November 2010.
