Public Relations Internship available in AkiDwA

Akina Dada wa Africa (AkiDwA) is currently seeking an intern to assist with managing the organisation's public relations. Tasks will range from updating the organisation's website, Facebook page, and Twitter account, to writing and distributing press releases and emails to public officials regarding policy proposals and pending legislation. Part of the internship will focus on publicising and promoting AkiDwA 10th anniversary celebrations.

Successful candidates will have strong IT skills and experience using social networking media such as Facebook and Twitter and will possess strong writing abilities. Ideal candidates will also have some experience working in the public relations sector. Previous experience with minority-ethnic led groups or community organisations is preferred but not essential.

The intern must be available to work for 3 months for at least 14 hours per week. This internship is unpaid and there will not be a stipend. Internship will commence by July 2011 and end by October 2011.
