NWC Submission to the Agrifood Strategy 2030

Agriculture is an important part of rural life and women on Irish farms make a substantial contribution. Positive action and specific targeted measures are required to address the persistent gender gap in land ownership and ensure that young women can benefit from the investment and strategies developed to tackle generational renewal and deliver on our climate justice obligations. This submission outlines areas for action including setting targets and introducing incentives while also addressing the lack of representation of women at the decision making tables across all agri business and structures.
