You need to have a pre-abortion consultation before having an abortion. Telemedicine is continuing to operate nationwide, but check with your own GP about whether they can do a pre-abortion consultation with you over the phone, by video link or in person only.
The HSE funds unplanned pregnancy counselling agencies to provide unplanned pregnancy and post-abortion counselling that is free of charge to women, their partners or a family member.
